Hefele, D.D.S. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our patient-centered team in Virginia. In this role, you serve as a frontline advocate for our patients' oral health. You will perform comprehensive screenings, execute precise clinical cleanings, and collaborate directly with Dr. Hefele to develop and implement effective treatment plans. Duties and Responsibilities In addition to standard clinical procedures, the RDH at our practice will: Patient Advocacy: Prepare patients for exams by reviewing medical histories and addressing specific dental anxieties or concerns. Clinical Diagnostics: Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral images; identify signs of oral cancer, gingivitis, and periodontitis. Preventative Care: Perform thorough prophylaxis, including supra- and sub-gingival scaling, root planing, and polishing. Treatment Collaboration: Assist Dr. Hefele during exams by documenting findings in real-time and providing clinical observations to aid in diagnosis. Patient Education: Tailor oral hygiene instructions to each patient's specific needs, demonstrating proper brushing and flossing techniques and recommending supplemental products. Periodontal Maintenance: Monitor and record periodontal pocket depths and provide specialized care for patients with advanced gum disease. Sterilization & Compliance: Maintain a sterile environment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines, ensuring all instruments are properly processed and operatories are disinfected.
