Job Description
As a Registered Nurse – Associate & Occupational Health at Ascension, you will deliver compassionate, patient- and employee-centered care within a leading non-profit healthcare system recognized for its commitment to community and clinical excellence. In this role, you will support both traditional patient care needs and the occupational health needs of Ascension associates and affiliated staff across a variety of care environments. You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, provide triage and treatment for minor injuries and acute concerns, and coordinate follow-up care while maintaining a strong focus on safety, wellness, and prevention. Working in the Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will conduct occupational health screenings, immunizations, and surveillance activities; assist with return-to-work and fitness-for-duty evaluations; and collaborate with leaders and providers on safe work practices and appropriate work restrictions. You will document all care accurately in the electronic health record, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies. You will play a key role in educating employees and patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and injury prevention strategies, supporting a culture of safety and well-being throughout the organization. You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that are tailored, evidence-based, and consistent with Ascension’s standards of compassionate, personalized care. Drawing on strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and clinical judgment, you will respond to changing conditions, prioritize multiple demands, and advocate for the needs of both patients and associates. Ascension offers a compassionate and patient-focused environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and continuous learning. As part of a leading-edge healthcare system committed to innovation and professional development, you will have access to ongoing education, clinical resources, and career advancement opportunities. This position is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about combining direct clinical care with occupational health, enjoys building relationships in a community-centric setting, and is eager to contribute to a culture of safety, respect, and personal growth.
