Registered Nurse - Cardiothoracic Transplant and Pulmonary Medicine Transition (10DG to 9D) This position is eligible for a generous sign-on bonus! This position is part of a program with our sister unit, 10DG Pulmonary Medicine. 9D Cardiothoracic Transplant will be your home unit, but you will spend time on 10DG before transitioning into your position on 9D in the Kamin Tower.* The Kamin Tower at UPMC Presbyterian (opening in January 2027) is shaping the future of hospital care — and the dedicated teams that support the environment are essential to that mission. About the Units: 9D is a 17-bed cardiothoracic transplant unit caring for patients recovering from heart and/or lung transplants, and who receive support from a ventricular assist device; we also receive overflow cardiology patients. On 9D, we pride ourselves on creating a highly collaborative environment for our nurses and multidisciplinary team. 10D-10G is a 29-bed pulmonary medicine unit caring for pulmonary transplant patients as well as patients with advanced conditions including (but not limited to) cystic fibrosis, COPD, asthma, scleroderma, sleep apnea, sarcoidosis, and pulmonary hypertension. 10 D/G is classified as a stepdown unit; we commonly receive patients from the Medical ICU and acuity can change quickly. We encounter many specialized medications and equipment types, and we perform bronchoscopies, thoracentesis, and line placement at the bedside.
