If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center, 2100 Charlie Hall Blvd Charleston, SC 29414. Under limited supervision of the Nurse Manager, performs nursing and clinical services to patients of Charleston Dorchester MHC. Will work alongside members of nursing services team performing various nursing functions to include but not limited to providing injections, taking vital signs, triaging phone calls, performing home visits to clients, completing medication authorizations, meeting productivity requirements, and accurately reflecting in medical records services rendered. Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse: Provide direct nursing services for all CDMHC patients and consults with teams regarding medical and nursing issues. Provide nursing services which include but are not limited to nursing assessment, crisis intervention, medication management, injections, and medical records management. Provide triage services to walk-in clients. Make home visit as scheduled in the community.Maintain a caseload of MMO patients as assigned. Provide direct services to and/or maintain contact with patient to ensure stability. Maintain medical records of MMO patients, triaging phone calls from MMO patients, and scheduling patients for MD appointments.Perform other nursing duties as needed to ensure all patients have appropriate access to medications, including PA's calling in refills, coordinating long-acting injectables, coordinating Clozaril or other specialty medications.Maintain records in accordance with Center, State and Federal guidelines.Comply with all applicable Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, and Cultural Competence policies, procedures and regulations and all Federal and State laws as well as attend all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Additional Requirements Bachelor's degree in nursing with three (3) years' experience, or an associate degree in nursing and three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse with two (2) years must have been in a community mental program.This position is considered essential and may require reporting for duty in the event of weather or similar emergency events.Must be able to lift 5 pounds, bend, stoop, and travel from one location to another.May include work in the community and patients' homes.The employee is required to have a serviceable personal vehicle and a valid SC driver's licenseA nursing license through the SC Board of Nursing must be obtained no later than 30 days of initial hire date.
