Overview Department:Float Pool Shifts:FT, Nights The Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Float RN is a versatile clinician who may be assigned to two or more units based on patient care needs and maintains competency to practice across all assigned units. Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care within the RN scope of practice. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Maintain competency and provide care in two or more units based on organizational needs. Direct and guide patient and family education regarding care plans and treatment. Supervise and collaborate with other nursing personnel to maintain high-quality patient care. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology. Respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING Current and valid state RN License Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred. B
