Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre Procedure Phase II Status: Full-time Shift: 8am - 8:30pm NO CALL - WEEKEND ROTATION DEPENDING ON ROTATION 1 MAJOR 1 MINOR HOLIDAY The Ambulatory Surgery Unit, or ASU, is located on the ground floor of the main hospital adjacent to the Operating Room (OR) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). It consists of a 28- bed surgery prep unit and a 32-bed outpatient unit for pre and postoperative care for pediatric patients and adult postoperative care. Health, dental, and vision insurance – coverage starts on your first day ~ Monthly $100 contribution to Dependent Care FSA (for eligible employees) ~ Generous PTO , including volunteer time off – accrual begins immediately ~ Under the direct supervision of the ASU Nurse Manager, the Pre-Admission Nurse performs: Assessment with the patient prior to admission via a phone interview or in person Collects the patients' medical history from previous medical records Works closely with the anesthesia department in coordinating the patient's needs Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for patients in accordance with the plan of care, established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
