Northern Nevada Medical Center (NNMC), a comprehensive healthcare provider in Sparks, Nevada, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg 6 Unit. As a key member of our adult medical-surgical team, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with a wide range of acute medical and post-surgical conditions. You will perform thorough patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, monitor for changes in condition, and collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-focused care. Working within NNMC’s collaborative and supportive culture, you will develop and implement individualized care plans, educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions, and advocate for patient needs throughout the continuum of care. You will use sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple patient needs, and adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols to ensure a safe and therapeutic setting. In this role, you will manage IV therapies, wound care, post-operative monitoring, and pain management, while documenting all aspects of care accurately and timely in the electronic health record. You will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, effective handoffs, and team huddles to support continuity and quality of care. As part of a cohesive nursing team, you will contribute to a positive unit culture by supporting colleagues, mentoring newer staff, and engaging in ongoing education and competency development.
