Summary Ambulatory Surgery Services provides care for patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures in the outpatient setting. This includes the peri anesthesia continuum to include pre anesthesia, interoperative, post anesthesia phases I and II, and extended care from sedation/analgesia and or anesthesia. The nurse manager will ensure current American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses and Association of Peri-Operative Nurses standards are maintained. Duties Duties include but are not limited to: Brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills First-line supervisory authority, responsible and accountable for the operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers as needed. Responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. Enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes. Responsible for making recommendations for appointments, advancements/promotions, or reassignments of staff reporting to them. Give advice, counsel, or provide instruction on work-related or administrative matters. Hear and resolve complaints and refer more serious concerns to higher level supervisors or subject matter experts as appropriate. Recommend and/or take disciplinary action where appropriate. Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards. Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution. Preferred Specialized Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience leading Peri Operative and Peri Anesthesia Nursing Practice in alignment with regulatory compliance and The Joint Commission, infection control, AORN and ASPAN Standards. Experience managing staff schedules, hiring/training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution. Supervisory experience includes staff orientation, training, coaching, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions. Demonstrated leadership of interdisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, communication, and high-reliability practices. Ability to coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, sterile processing staff and other stakeholders to ensure smooth Ambulatory Surgery operations Expertise applying evidence-based practice and research to resource utilization, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. Strong communication and customer service skills in interactions with patients, families, staff, and stakeholders.
