Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) Nursing House Supervisor functions to deliver and coordinate safe, efficient, and effective patient care throughout all areas of the facility. They assume authority, responsibility and accountability for managing and directing employees, staffing units and allocating resources as necessary during the absence of nursing management/leadership. Duties The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Duties of the RN Nursing House Supervisor include, but are not limited to: Leads and supervises facility-wide nursing operations, ensuring safe, effective, and continuous patient care. Plans, organizes, and oversees care delivery, including access to care and discharge coordination. Serves as the on-site nursing expert, providing guidance and emergency support at all times. Identifies escalating medical or environmental issues and allocates staffing resources appropriately. Promotes staff participation in planning, decision-making, and evaluating patient care outcomes. Evaluates nursing practices and develops improvements for patient groups or organizational processes. Guides and supports nursing staff using evidence-based standards and professional leadership practices. Manages units, staffing, and resources during weekends, holidays, and after-hours in the absence of leadership. Collaborates with AODs and interdisciplinary teams on patient care decisions and emergency response. Coordinates stroke program activities, including audits, data reporting, education, and protocol implementation. Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Sunday - Saturday with rotating weekends and holidays, 0700-1930.
