Per Diem Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse Immediately hiring Registered Nurse for Preop/Recovery PACU Monday - Friday day schedule SurgCenter of Greater Jacksonville was established by clinical personnel to provide first-class surgical services for the local community in a safe comfortable and welcoming environment. SurgCenter of Greater Jacksonville is seeking a motivated PreOP/Recovery PACU Registered Nurse to join our team. JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Experienced in supporting the following specialties: Orthopedics Neurosurgery / Spine Pain Management Sports Medicine QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must have at least 1 year of previous experience in PreOP/PACU Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred Must have current BLS, ALS, and PALS Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to quickly adapt to the changing condition of the patient when needed Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients, and physicians.
