Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Chemotherapy Infusion to join our dynamic oncology care team.In this role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their infusion sessions.The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient assessment, medication administration, and aseptic techniques, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals battling cancer and other hematologic conditions.Duties Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies following established protocols and safety standards, including aseptic technique and IV insertion.Monitor patients' vital signs, physiological responses, and overall condition during treatment sessions, promptly addressing any adverse reactions or complications.Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to infusion, including review of medical history, medication reconciliation, and evaluation of laboratory results such as ICD-10 coding for diagnoses.Educate patients about their treatment plans, potential side effects, and post-infusion care instructions to promote understanding and adherence.Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in oncology, cardiology (for catheterization procedures), ophthalmology (for Botulinum toxin treatments), and other specialists involved in complex patient care.Manage emergency situations effectively using basic life support (BLS) skills and airway management techniques.Support infection control protocols and sterile processing procedures to prevent complications.Assist with specimen collection and processing for laboratory analysis related to oncology treatments.Participate in discharge planning and patient education initiatives to facilitate continuity of care.Experience Candidates should demonstrate a minimum of two years of nursing experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, or emergency medicine.Prior experience with chemotherapy infusion is highly desirable.Additional qualifications include:Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation.Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring long-term care such as hospice or memory care.Familiarity with specialized procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding management, or dialysis is advantageous.Strong understanding of physiology knowledge related to oncology treatments and medication administration.Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, suturing, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques efficiently.Experience working within multidisciplinary teams providing services like pain management, trauma medicine (Level I/II trauma centers), infectious disease care, or behavioral health is beneficial.Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as ACLS are preferred.If you are committed to advancing your nursing career within a supportive environment dedicated to excellence in cancer care delivery, we encourage you to apply today.#IND1 Pay:$2,920.00 - $3,413.00 per week Benefits:Referral program Education:Bachelor's (Required) Experience:Chemotherapy INFUSION:2 years (Required) Med surg:2 years (Required) License/Certification:BLS Certification (Required) ACLS (Required) PALS (Required) Work Location:On the road.
