Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our PACU PreOp team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to surgical patients before and after procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members, you will perform comprehensive preoperative assessments, verify histories, medications, and consents, and educate patients and families on the surgical process, expectations, and post-operative care. In the PACU, you will monitor patients emerging from anesthesia, manage airways and hemodynamic stability, administer medications and pain management interventions, and respond promptly to any changes in condition or post-anesthesia complications. You will utilize evidence-based nursing practices, follow all hospital protocols and regulatory standards, and accurately document assessments, interventions, and responses in the electronic medical record.
