Job Description Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking an experienced Perianesthesia or Operating Room Nurse for a full-time position as an RN Perioperative Liaison.The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 7.30pm-4.00pm Our Surgery Center has been awarded a gold star by the Joint Commission Center of excellence for Hip and Knee Replacements and Spinal Surgery. Additionally, our Neurology and Neurosurgery has been ranked as #41 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. We take pride in our prestigious national recognitions as a hospital and in our Magnet designation for nursing. Inova Loudoun's Perianesthesia Department has a total of 38 bays (16 PreOp, 14 Phase 1, and 8 Phase 2) that serve a diverse surgical population of all ages. Our Surgical Service Lines include, general/trauma, endoscopy, spine, orthopedic, neurosurgery, robotics, urology, plastics, gynecology, breast, podiatry, vascular, maxillofacial, dental, and ENT. We are a Level II Trauma center supporting the community with our advanced surgical and critical care capabilities. RN Perioperative Liaison Job Responsibilities Formulates an individualized plan of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice. Supports/empowers patients and families as they progress through the perioperative continuum. Anticipates patient variances and revises the plan of care when needed. Anticipates patient needs to ensure a smooth transition from the perioperative environment. Facilitates communication amongst the multidisciplinary team, patients and families and collaborates with the healthcare team, incorporating their expertise to lead to desired outcomes. Completes and appropriately documents post operative phone calls. Communicates follow-up information from post-operation phone calls to leaders and members of the multidisciplinary team. Ensures criteria are met for same-day discharge/admission in post operative patients. Participates in quality improvement initiatives and incorporates research findings into nursing practice. Mentors staff in understanding and advocating for the importance of utilizing relationship-based care initiatives in nursing practice. Performs other duties as assigned. RN Perioperative Liaison Job Requirements One year of Preoperative and PACU, and/or OR nursing experience is required Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree.
