Novant Health’s Pulmonary Unit delivers high-acuity care to a diverse respiratory population, including patients with pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary embolism, influenza, respiratory failure and COVID-19.This unit offers nurses the opportunity to sharpen advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced, team-driven environment—managing tracheostomies, ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes—while making a meaningful impact on patients at some of their most critical moments What you'll Do Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, influenza, and respiratory failure Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen and ventilatory needs Manage specialized skills including Tracheostomy and ventilated patient care CPAP/BIPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy Chest tube management Administration of blood products and select IV drips What We're Looking For Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course. Experience: One year of acute nursing experience required. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
