Position Title : Registered Nurse (Sclerotherapy) Position Summary: Advanced Vein Associates is seeking an energetic, conscientious, and motivated Registered Nurse (Sclerotherapy) to join our outpatient varicose vein clinic. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in sclerotherapy (or other specialized, subcutaneous injections), as an OR scrub assist, or with other sterile procedures (hospital or office-based). The RN Injector will perform all visually-guided sclerotherapy in the office as well as providing specialized nursing care and education to patients in an outpatient clinical practice. This is a full-time position, with projected 36-40 hrs/week Monday-Friday, although there may be a possibility for 32-36 hrs/week on a 4 day schedule. . Our practice philosophy is to offer a high-touch, truly patient-centered experience, with longer appointment times and personalized service for our patients, with commensurately higher expectations of our staff members. We are a small, efficient team with a family atmosphere, where all employees are expected to assist in general tasks (including cleaning the office) in addition to their specialized roles, while exhibiting flexibility and a positive, patient-focused, and "can-do" attitude. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Assist physician during sterile, office-based procedures. Perform visually-guided sclerotherapy on patients with varicose veins and telangiectasias (spider veins). Facilitate the flow of patients within the clinical practice (including chart abstraction of incoming referrals, rooming patients, medication reconciliation, recording vital signs, etc). Monitor and assure completeness of patient charts. Prepares medical equipment and instruments for sterile procedures. Conduct pre-procedure calls and return clinical patient phone calls. Order inventory and stock supplies in exam and treatment rooms. Maintain patient confidentiality, following all HIPAA guidelines. Adhere to all policies and procedures including, OSHA and office-based policies. Perform other duties as assigned by Practice Management, including secondary duties such as covering the front desk and obtaining insurance prior authorization for procedures, when needed Required Experience, Education, and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program with current, active license. Unrestricted CT state Registered Nurse license required to be active at all times. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification Minimum of two (2) years of current or recent experience in a hospital, surgical center, vein clinic, or office-based interventional radiology or vascular surgery practice. Strong preference given to candidates with Injector Qualifications or Certifications. Fluency in English is required. Proficiency or fluency in additional languages is desirable. Working knowledge of insurance carriers, policy structures, and authorization processes strongly preferred. Applicants must be adept at using Microsoft Windows-based computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (email). Experience with EMR software is preferred (Meridian VertexDR). General Staff Requirements: All candidates may be subject to criminal background screening and drug testing prior to employment. All staff members must be have proof of vaccinations for COVID-19, Hepatitis B, and annual influenza vaccines.
