Lead, AccountingL3Harris is dedicated to recruiting and developing high-performing talent who are passionate about what they do.Our employees are unified in a shared dedication to our customers' mission and quest for professional growth.L3Harris provides an inclusive, engaging environment designed to empower employees and promote work-life success.Fundamental to our culture is an unwavering focus on values, dedication to our communities, and commitment to excellence in everything we do.L3Harris is the Trusted Disruptor in defense tech.With customers' mission-critical needs always in mind, our employees deliver end-to-end technology solutions connecting the space, air, land, sea and cyber domains in the interest of national security.Job Location:RemoteSchedule:9/80-Every other Friday offJob Summary:ICFR Champion Key Responsibilities:Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).Provide guidance and leadership in the development and documentation of internal controls, processes, and procedures.Manage the SOX compliance program, including working with external and internal auditors on risk assessments and the design of their control testing.Develop and implement action plans to address control deficiencies and enhance control effectiveness.Ensure timely and accurate completion of all SOX-related activities and deliverables.Provide guidance and leadership in the development and documentation of internal controls, processes, and procedures.Aerospace & Defense Accounting:Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and completed in a timely manner.Ensure adherence to government contract accounting standards and requirements, including revenue recognition under ASC 606.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.Support the tracking and analysis of costs related to aerospace and defense projects, including material, labor, and overhead costs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and support financial initiatives.Essential Functions:Actively seek opportunities to improve assigned processes and cross-train with peers for operational efficiency.Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively convey complex financial information.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset, fostering teamwork and collaboration.Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage contract-related tasks effectively.Exhibit excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a contract accounting context.Experience in leading teams, guiding and directing resources, planning, forecasting, scheduling, and facilitation related to government contracts.Prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate to ensure timely completion of contract obligations.Ability to track and adapt to competing priorities and changing requirements in the aerospace and defense accounting environmentQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.5 years experience in SAP with an understanding of costs and revenues for an array of contractual programs in a complex manufacturing/logistics environment5 years experience in internal controlPreferred Additional Skills:CPARelevant experience in government contract accounting and ASC 606Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
