What you’ll do Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier agent evaluations in consumer research. As a Personal Consumer Research Expert, you’ll build long‑horizon research tasks that mirror the work you already do, each paired with a deterministic rubric that grades agent performance against verifiable ground truth. Tasks need to have checkable answers; no open‑ended essays, no subjective judgment calls. Expect to build scenarios across product research and major purchase analysis. Build scenarios for product research, including shortlists that meet all stated specifications and budget constraints, and TCO calculations with ground‑truth totals. Develop service provider comparisons (insurance, internet, utilities) scored against a defined rubric with a documented winner. Conduct major purchase analysis, including quote gathering against rules and negotiation angles against policy references. Qualifications 3+ years in product research, personal procurement, journalism / review writing, or adjacent roles. Expertise in product spec analysis, service provider comparison (insurance, internet, utilities), quote gathering and negotiation, or TCO modeling. Comfortable reading and producing research artifacts such as comparison tables, shortlists, negotiation briefs, and TCO spreadsheets. Clear written communication; able to articulate reasoning step by step and encode it into deterministic rubrics. Compensation Location: United States or Canada. $50–$65 per hour, depending on domain depth and prior experience. Strong contributors are promoted based on task quality and throughput.
