Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Resident Assistant, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate support and high-quality care to residents in a long-term care or assisted living setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to ensure health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols under supervision or as trained Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, creating a safe and supportive environment Provide companionship and social engagement to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas, ensuring a hygienic environment at all times Document resident interactions, health status updates, and incident reports using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Skills Proven experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home & community care environments Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and behavior management techniques Ability to perform first aid and CPR; certification preferred but not required Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring Strong caregiving skills with experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, and families Ability to operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts safely; driving skills are a plus for community outings or appointments This role is ideal for compassionate individuals eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
