Do you excel at building strong client partnerships, inspiring diverse teams, and driving operational excellence? If so, we want YOU to join our Chartwells Higher Education leadership team as our next Resident District Manager (RDM)! As the RDM, you will oversee a large, multi‑unit dining account—serving as the primary point of contact for our client while leading the strategy, service culture, and operational success of the entire account. In this highly visible role, you’ll guide our teams to deliver exceptional food experiences while achieving both operational and financial goals in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. What You’ll Lead & Own Strategic Leadership Inspire, motivate, and mentor a diverse team across a large, multi-unit operation. Build trusted relationships with clients, students, and the surrounding community. Foster a culture rooted in transparency, accountability, inclusivity, and safety. Represent Chartwells as the face of the dining program at key client and community events. Operational Excellence Drive performance toward key organizational goals: profitability, safety, engagement, and service quality. Ensure all decisions balance short- and long-term impact while involving key partners. Support cross-functional areas—including culinary, nutrition, safety, and marketing. Business Performance & Growth Own the financial performance of the account, including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure client satisfaction, account retention, and identify cross-sell opportunities. Support rebid efforts and strengthen long-term business partnerships. Compliance & Standards Ensure adherence to local, state, federal, and company regulations. Maintain full compliance with USDA program requirements and reporting. Conduct thorough unit audits (food storage, sanitation, safety, etc.). Talent Development Champion team growth through coaching, performance evaluations, and succession planning. Ensure strong understanding of all roles within the operation to support effective development. What You Bring to the Table We’re looking for an innovative leader with: A strong track record in foodservice management and multi-unit leadership. Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of management experience in foodservice, hospitality, or support services. Exceptional customer service orientation and the ability to build strong partnerships. Proven business, financial, and operational acumen. Strengths in initiative, critical thinking, communication, multitasking, and prioritization. A proactive champion of diversity, inclusion, and a positive workplace culture. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and POS software proficiency. Why Join Us?
