We are currently seeking a passionate individual for the position of a Full Time Residential Counselor in our Bay Shore Community Residence Program. In this crucial role, assist individuals in developing independent living skills to increase their self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and self-worth. You provide hands-on training and assist with the activities of daily living as well as provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management for adults living with severe mental illness. Responsibilities Participate in the planning/evaluation of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives Hands-on training and assisting residents in the activities for daily living and documenting interaction Responsible for accompanying residents on recreational outings and travel training exercises Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management Assist in the day-to-day management of the community residence Responsible for administration of residence in the absence of the Assistant Administrator Notify the Assistant Administrator/Residential Administrator of any medical/psychiatric emergency Provide transportation as needed for shopping, medical appointments, etc. Write progress notes on residents' activities on a daily basis Monitors management
