RESOURCE PARENT TRAINER Full-Time | Exempt ?? Together California Join Our Mission Together California is seeking a compassionate, engaging, and experienced Resource Parent Trainer to help recruit, train, and support foster families who provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children and youth in foster care. This role is ideal for someone passionate about child welfare, family support, and trauma-informed care who enjoys training, mentoring, and empowering others to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. Position Summary The Resource Parent Trainer is responsible for recruiting prospective resource families, facilitating pre-service and ongoing foster parent training, and providing continued guidance and support throughout the Resource Family Approval (RFA) process. This position helps ensure foster families are prepared, supported, and equipped to provide quality care and positive outcomes for youth in care. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Recruit and engage prospective resource families through outreach events, community partnerships, and social media initiatives Lead and facilitate pre-service and ongoing training for foster/resource parents in accordance with RFA requirements Provide individualized coaching, support, and guidance to resource families Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, home safety standards, and required training hours Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and foster parent files Keep families informed regarding policy updates, available resources, and support opportunities Participate in community outreach efforts to expand and strengthen the agency’s resource family network Ensure all aspects of the RFA process comply with state and county regulations Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred Experience in foster care, child welfare, or family services required Experience facilitating trainings, workshops, or group instruction strongly preferred Strong knowledge of California foster care regulations and Resource Family Approval (RFA) requirements Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to engage and support diverse populations professionally and respectfully Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record Commitment to Together California’s mission, vision, and values Why Join Together California?
