Job Description
Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes. Every day you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration, plus a commitment to safety and continuous development, are essential. Maintains an efficient environment by displaying competency in the function and maintenance of clinical equipment Supervises and serves as a resource person to respiratory therapists in relation to computer programs, clinical equipment, cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and therapies, and diagnostic testing for EEG/Sleep Studies Demonstrates behaviors and duties consistent with respiratory care responsibilities Handles discrepancies independently with purchasing and other hospital departments Serves as the lead resource person for the Respiratory Care department by demonstrating concise explanations of respiratory functions (budget, goals, orientation, evaluations, scheduling, discharge planning, patient management, etc) to physicians, patients, and hospital personnel Manages financial aspects of purchasing, expense reports, etc. Job Requirements Required Associates Other Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy Respiratory Care Practitioner: ND, upon hire and Registered Respiratory Therapist: ND, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire Preferred 1-3 years Work Experience Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire Where You'll Work CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, part of CommonSpirit Heath, a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood, Colorado. Pay Range $34.00 - $50.58 /hour
