Job Description
Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) - Pulmonary | Travel/Contract Location: Libertyville Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center | Level II NICU | Teaching Hospital | Magnet Facility | Primary Stroke Center Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) to work across the full patient lifespan (neonates to geriatrics) in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care and ventilator management experience . Key Responsibilities Provide respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Manage ventilators and advanced airway support Perform ABG draws and interpretation Spontaneous breathing trials Proning techniques Assist with ECMO support (if applicable) Nitrous oxide procedures Manage patients with Tracheostomies Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention and treatment Requirements (MUST HAVE) Experience: Minimum 2 years (REQUIRED) with full lifespan care (Peds + Adults + Geri) Licensure: Active Illinois RT License Certifications (ALL REQUIRED at submission): BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) PALS NRP RRT (Preferred) or CRT accepted EMR Experience: Epic (Required) Clinical Skills Required Tracheostomy care Ventilator management (critical care) Nitrous oxide procedures Proning techniques ECMO exposure VAP prevention/management Spontaneous breathing trials ABG draws Facility & Unit Details Beds: 273 Patient Ratio: 1:1 Patient Population: Neonates to geriatric respiratory patients PPE: Fully available (including N95) Equipment & Technology Ventilators: PB840, PB980, Servo-U, Hamilton CPAP/BiPAP: V60s, ResMed, RemStar High Flow: Optiflow Transport Vents: Hamilton Support & Work Environment Supervisor support onsite Collaborative, high-acuity team environment Floating May float to other facilities within the health system (based on contract) Orientation 1 day unit orientation Schedule Shift: 12-hour shifts Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend On-Call: None Holidays: Based on department needs Additional Information Scrubs: Charcoal Gray (Required) Parking: Free
