Job Description
National Park Medical Center, a comprehensive healthcare provider offering emergency care, surgical services, and specialized treatments, is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care to adult and pediatric populations in a fast-paced acute care environment. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, you will perform respiratory assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and deliver a full range of therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory services. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for administering oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy; performing arterial blood gas sampling and analysis; and setting up, monitoring, and adjusting invasive and non-invasive ventilators in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. You will assist with emergency airway management, respond to rapid response and code situations, and ensure that all respiratory care is delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with hospital policies and evidence-based standards of practice. This position involves operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide variety of respiratory care equipment, including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP devices, oxygen delivery systems, nebulizers, and suction devices. You will document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record, communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the care team, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes. Patient and family education regarding respiratory conditions, medications, and the proper use of home and hospital respiratory equipment will be an important component of your daily work. National Park Medical Center fosters an inclusive and compassionate culture that emphasizes teamwork and respect. As a Respiratory Therapist here, you will be an integral part of a dedicated medical team committed to delivering exceptional care and improving community health. You will be expected to follow strict infection control and safety protocols, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and stay current with advances in respiratory care through continuing education and professional development opportunities supported by the organization. This is an on-site clinical role that may include rotating shifts, weekends, nights, and holiday coverage to ensure 24/7 respiratory support for patients. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed and compassionate in high-acuity situations. National Park Medical Center offers a supportive environment where Respiratory Therapists can grow their skills, collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families across the community.
