Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Restaurant Sommelier to elevate our dining experience through expert wine and beverage service. As a key member of our culinary team, you will curate wine selections, assist guests in pairing wines with their meals, and deliver exceptional customer service that leaves a lasting impression. Your expertise will help create a refined, memorable atmosphere where guests feel valued and inspired by the art of wine. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine your culinary knowledge with sales skills in a vibrant fine dining environment. Responsibilities Curate and manage an extensive wine list, including sourcing, menu planning, and inventory control using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals, providing detailed descriptions and pairing recommendations to enhance their dining experience. Maintain high standards of food safety, food handling, and sanitation in all beverage service activities. Collaborate with culinary staff on menu planning and special events like banquets and catering to ensure seamless beverage integration. Upsell wine options and related beverages through engaging sales techniques to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue. Serve wine and beverages professionally, ensuring proper presentation, pouring techniques, and adherence to service standards. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining excellent customer service throughout the process. Managing Wine Locker program VIP guest relations Experience Proven restaurant experience with a focus on fine dining or upscale food service environments. Strong knowledge of the food industry, including meal preparation, catering, banquet experience, and food safety regulations. Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability in sales and upselling techniques within a hospitality setting. Background in food handling, food safety practices, and responsible alcohol service is essential. Culinary experience or knowledge of menu planning enhances your ability to recommend perfect pairings. Prior experience in serving or catering roles that showcase excellent customer service skills is highly valued.
