Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A specialty pharmacy is seeking two experienced pharmacists with a background in specialty pharmacy practice to support patients with rare and orphan diseases. This contract opportunity is designed for pharmacists who have directly worked in designated specialty pharmacy settings, providing expert guidance on complex medication regimens and facilitating access to high-cost, rare disease therapies. Location: Gilbert, AZ Type: Contract (13 weeks) with potential for direct hire Schedule: Monday - Friday, daytime hours Start: ASAP Key Responsibilities Manage dispensing and clinical oversight of rare and orphan drug therapies Collaborate closely with healthcare providers and patients to ensure proper medication use and adherence Assist patients and providers in navigating insurance approvals, payment assistance programs, grants, and rebates to reduce financial burdens Maintain high-level communication and clinical support, fostering strong patient-provider relationships Ensure compliance with specialty pharmacy protocols and regulatory requirements Desired Qualifications Proven experience working specifically in a specialty pharmacy environment (retail pharmacy experience alone is not sufficient) Strong clinical knowledge regarding rare, high-cost medications and associated disease states Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients and healthcare providers Familiarity with insurance processes, patient assistance programs, and specialty pharmacy services Ability to manage complex cases with attention to detail and sensitivity This role offers the opportunity to contribute to improving treatment outcomes for patients facing rare diseases through dedicated specialty pharmacy expertise.
