Retail Sales position available at our sweet small-town candy store! Position performs general retail store duties and provides excellent customer service. Greets customers in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner while providing information and history about Highland Chocolates and area tourist attractions. Pay Rate: 11.75 - 12.60 per hr Schedule: Part time position available working every Saturday, likely around 12:00 Noon - 6:30 pm (closing time). Possibility of being asked asked to help cover weekday shifts on occasion - can discuss details/availability further upon interview. Qualifications: Valid driver's license with reliable transportation required; previous experience working retail preferred; satisfactory background clearances which can be conducted at time of hire. Job Specific Standards Performs general cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, removing garbage. Charges and collects money by using a cash register device (electronic tablet) and a credit/debit card machine in an efficient and customer-friendly manner. When money for change is running low, will lock store and obtain change from a local bank. Displays items for sale in a neat and organized manner. Markets Highland Chocolates and Wellsboro Tourist Attractions (activities, entertainment, history, etc.) to customers visiting the Highland Chocolates' satellite store. Greets customers in a friendly, professional and attentive manner while providing them with information and history about Highland Chocolates' products. Checks stock on an ongoing basis and contacts supervisor when stock items are running low. Safely and securely transports cash bag to Highland Chocolates at the end of each shift. Follows all established opening and closing store procedures. Completes all other duties as assigned by the Highland Chocolates' Manager including duties to be performed at the main Highland Chocolates' location. Physical Activities/Requirements Must be free from communicable diseases or take proper precautions as directed and authorized by a physician. Close visual acuity in order to view a computer monitor, frequently read emails, ISP's, training materials and observation notes. Required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. Ascend or descend stairs or ramps. Bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Remain stationary for sustained periods of time. Move about on foot to accomplish tasks or move from one work site to another. Use upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward or to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position-to-position. Pick, pinch, type and apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Medium Work. Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
