Job Description
We are looking for a full-time Retail Sales/Material Handler to provide excellent customer service and help stock and load out customers at our discount building material business.Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out.You will help identify customer needs, present and answer questions about our products, and assist co-workers as needed.You will also be expected to be able to work on other tasks needed to keep our store going when not helping customers such as stocking inventory, general cleaning of warehouse, forklift operation, etc.A self-motivated individual who can take a list of tasks and operate independently will succeed in this role.Responsibilities Greet and direct customers within our warehouse/store Provide accurate information (e.g.product features, pricing and location of products) Answer customers' questions about specific products Assist with sales and returns of merchandise Coordinate with your co-workers to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times) Independently work assigned tasks as discussed with team & manager on daily basis Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager Stay up-to-date with new products/services Be able to move 40-50 (sometimes more) lbs.on a regular basis.Occasionally be able to help handle large objects (i.e.patio doors, plywood sheets, lumber).Help unload trucks that bring in products.Help load products onto customer vehicles.Be able to use a simple computer program to make customer receipts.Clean, organize, do light maintenance of store and products.Skills Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role.Understanding of the retail sales process Basic math skills Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships Ability to perform in fast-paced environments Fork lift & telehandler operation experience preferred but can train Any home improvement/construction experience Use of basic hand tools (tape measure, radial arm saw, ect.) Schedule Schedule for the upcoming week is determined in the prior week Hours of store operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 am until 5:00pm & Saturdays 8:00 am until 2:00pm (closed on Sundays and major holidays) 3 Saturdays required per month from 8am until 2pm If working a scheduled Saturday there would be an alternate day off during the week determined at the making of the schedule Job Type:Full-time Pay:$16.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours:40 per week Benefits:Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Application Question(s):Are you able to work 3 Saturdays per month from 8am until 2pm?
