POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION: Senior Associate REPORTS TO: Owner STATUS: Full time COMPANY INFORMATION: Tijon Charleston is a fragrance lab and retail shop located downtown offering both a curated retail selection and experience based custom fragrance classes. After five years on King Street, we recently relocated to Market Street offering a larger space to work within. Established in 2007 and originating in St Martin, FWI, Tijon is a niche experience-based parfumerie specializing in fine handcrafted fragrances made with the highest quality ingredients. Tijon is a fragrance lab that offers all guests a lab style experience with the opportunity to create a custom perfume/cologne from over 300 vetted oils. The experience includes bottling & naming of the perfume/cologne & receiving a certificate with the formula of their personalized scent that can be used to reorder in the future. Tijon believes in creating quality fragrances with the finest ingredients and have committed years of research to establish our “oil organ”. Tijon takes every detail into account – with all perfumes/colognes bottled by hand to avoid the risk of oxidation and preserve their small batch quality. Not only is the goal to design a memorable fragrance, but also to teach the world about the history, complexity, and beauty of fragrance creation. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Senior Associate for Tijon is an integral part of the daily operations of the parfumerie. He/She will have responsibilities including (but not limited to) communication with part-time staff, scheduling shop staff hours, merchandising, inventory, organizing special events, and overseeing perfume class instructions. This position not only includes a competitive salary plus PTO, but it is also supplemented by tips. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide the highest-level service with each customer who visits Tijon, whether in a quick tour of the space OR in a scheduled class – being attentive, knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. Each visitor should leave with a positive and memorable experience. Assist with administering perfume making classes, to include bottling perfume for each customer at the close of each class. Monitor and respond to emails, as well as incoming phone calls/messages. Order/reorder and track inventory Assist in training new employees Order/reorder and track supplies for the shop Anticipate and fulfill customer questions and needs with option oriented, flexible solutions in a courteous, professional, and skilled manner. Take reservations by computer, telephone, and in person. Establish relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and continued business. Know the product and perfume making process, being the resource and expert for each customer. Assist with various accounting related tasks, as needed. Maintain complete and accurate records, according to company systems and standards. Assist with general upkeep of the retail shop. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with coworkers. Assist with supervision, training, and scheduling of the staff.
