Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Specialist / Experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services. Your expertise will help optimize revenue flow, improve collections, and maintain compliance with industry standards. Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision) codes, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for accurate billing. Prepare and submit claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring all documentation aligns with payer requirements. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by conducting thorough medical collections efforts, appealing rejections, and resolving discrepancies promptly. Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to service delivery to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim submissions, adjustments, and payments within medical records systems. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation issues related to ICD coding, medical terminology, or procedural details that impact billing accuracy. Stay current with industry regulations including updates to ICD-9 (if applicable), ICD-10 coding standards, and payer policies to ensure compliance. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical coding including ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG classifications, and ICD-9 (if applicable). Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Proven experience with medical billing processes within EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with insurance claim submission protocols. Excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and error resolution in complex billing scenarios. Ability to interpret medical records accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding coding or documentation issues. Skilled in medical collection strategies to recover outstanding balances efficiently while maintaining professionalism. Familiarity with industry regulations related to healthcare reimbursement and compliance standards.
