Job Description
Purpose The City of Savannah Revenue Department has the perfect opportunity for you as a Revenue Enforcement Coordinator. This position coordinates the duties required to ensure effective and efficient processes related to outstanding balances for Business Tax, Alcohol Licensing, Property Tax, and Excise Tax. The Revenue Enforcement Coordinator will oversee the collections efforts and delinquency controls for the City of Savannah, ensuring money owed is collected, received, and processed correctly and promptly. This position also coordinates new collection development and implementation and provides training to incoming Revenue Investigators. They are required to handle customer complaints and may negotiate with customers about payment arrangements to ensure they are being paid. They also provide reports on the collection unit's progress, statistics, and data analysis. Essential Job Functions Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for Investigator staff; assign work activities, projects, and programs; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems. Hire, train, and supervise Revenue Investigators. Conduct performance evaluations. Requires after-hours enforcement of business violations. Manage the investigative complaints and follow up/notify all departments involved. Conduct briefings with the city attorney for infractions. Attend various meetings, conferences, and training sessions as required. Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the public. Responds to open records requests from officials, members of the staff, the public, or other individuals. Provide data analysis monthly. Prepare documents for Meetings with stakeholders. Maintain Investigator's Assignments. Correlate with the Georgia Department for Revenue, Georgia Revenue Municipal, for conferences and certifications. Plan, organize, and direct the enforcement activities involved in investigating, preventing, and detecting violations. Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. Establishes and maintains administrative filing systems, including the maintenance of confidential information. Provide responsible staff assistance to the Revenue Director; conduct a variety of organizational studies, investigations, and operational studies; recommend modifications to Revenue Ordinance, policies, and procedures as appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Government, Management, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; with three (3) years of experience in Compliance, Governmental Auditing, Financial Management Systems, Management Analysis, Accounting, Delinquent Collections, Regulatory Enforcement, Data Processing, or any equivalent combination of education training, and experience. Additional Requirements Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
