HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) - Days. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, standalone emergency setting that serves patients of all ages with a wide range of acute and urgent conditions. As an integral member of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, rapidly recognize and respond to changes in patient status, and implement evidence-based interventions consistent with emergency department standards and HCA Healthcare policies. The RN FSED Days nurse will triage patients, initiate and manage IV therapy, administer medications, provide wound care, support airway and cardiac emergencies, and collaborate closely with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, timely, and efficient care. You will actively participate in coordination of patient flow, from arrival and triage through diagnostic testing, treatment, patient and family education, and discharge or transfer to higher levels of care when needed. Accurate documentation, safe medication administration, and adherence to infection prevention and patient safety protocols are core responsibilities. You will be expected to follow emergency care standards, including ACLS and, when applicable, PALS protocols, utilize electronic medical records to document care, and use critical thinking to support rapid decision-making in collaboration with the care team. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participate in ongoing education and skills training, and support HCA Healthcare’s commitment to evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement. Aligned with HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, the RN FSED Days nurse will provide empathetic, culturally sensitive care, ensuring patients and families are informed and supported throughout their emergency visit. You will serve as an advocate for patient safety and comfort, help orient and mentor new team members as appropriate, and model professional behavior that reflects integrity, respect, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. This role offers the opportunity to grow within one of the nation’s leading healthcare organizations, with exposure to a diverse emergency patient population and access to robust clinical resources, education, and career development pathways.
