Job Summary:This position is a per diem role, providing department coverage and cross trained to cover Utilization Review and Discharge Planning as needed.It is eligible for the per diem differential in lieu of benefits.It is a remote hybrid position that does require occasional on-site shifts.The ED-based RN Case Manager collaborates with the emergency care team to coordinate the admission of ED patients as well as providing discharge planning support to those patients not admitted to the facility.For patients being admitted to the facility, the Case Manager/Utilization Review nurse will serve as a resource to providers in determining appropriate patient status and will complete initial utilization management reviews using InterQual criteria.The Case Manager/Utilization Review nurse will also begin the discharge planning process by interviewing patients and gathering pertinent case management/discharge planning information.The Case Manager/Utilization Review nurse should demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to offer care appropriate to a wide population of patients and have knowledge of community resources.This role will:Provide on-site coverage for longer pre-planned department absences.Provide remote coverage for department sick calls and short absences.Patient interactions would be completed telephonically and facilitated by ED/inpatient staff.Education and Training:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor's degree preferred.Licensures/ Certifications:Current Washington State RN license; Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification card on hire or within orientation period.Experience:Prefer a minimum of 2 years clinical, case management, or utilization review experience in an acute care setting.Skills and Abilities:Requires knowledge of health care industry operations, the health care delivery system, utilization review, and the principles and practices of the DNV on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.Knowledge of local social service resources beneficial.Excellent documentation and communication skills are required.Per Diem Benefits Overview:Retirement - 403(b) with matching contributions Employee Assistance Life Flight Discount Employee Wellness Program About TriState Health Learn more about TriState Health here.TriState Health is located in Clarkston, WA, which is nestled within the Lewis Clark Valley.The Lewis Clark Valley is a hidden gem, located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers and at the mouth of Hells Canyon, America's deepest river gorge.With a mild climate and a four-seasons environment, the valley offers a wide variety of year-round family friendly happenings.Spend time boating on the river, hiking, skiing at nearby resorts, savoring delicious wines and cuisines, attending sporting events, and more!
