As a Registered Nurse specializing in Endoscopy, you will collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care before, during, and after procedures. General Summary: This role involves direct patient care across diverse populations, focusing on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care during the intra-operative period. You will maintain communication with gastroenterology, internal medicine, surgery, and anesthesiology teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Uphold National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by regulatory agencies. Review patient charts to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness. Provide patient education tailored to individual learning needs and assess its effectiveness. Offer clear explanations and verbal reassurance to patients consistently. Identify physical symptoms and changes promptly, taking appropriate action. Demonstrate competency in administering moderate sedation and cardiac monitoring, recognizing dysrhythmias. Apply sound clinical judgment based on disease knowledge and patient care requirements. Maintain strict medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and procedures. Promote patient safety, comfort, dignity, and respect by addressing physiological and psychological needs. Exhibit flexibility, organization, and teamwork; assist in orienting new staff members. Participate in quality assurance and continuing education programs. Maintain open communication with nursing and healthcare teams. Ensure a safe, clean environment by following infection control protocols and SGNA guidelines.
