Job Description
UCHealth is seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses for our RN Fellowship Medical Progressive Care program within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. This structured fellowship is designed for new graduate RNs or experienced nurses transitioning into the medical progressive care environment, offering comprehensive orientation, preceptorship, and ongoing education. As an RN in this fellowship, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients with complex and evolving medical conditions who require close monitoring, advanced nursing interventions, and interdisciplinary collaboration. You will perform thorough patient assessments, recognize and respond to changes in patient status, administer medications and treatments, manage multiple IV infusions, interpret clinical data, and coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other team members. You will utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while promoting patient safety, comfort, and dignity. In this role, you will educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies to support successful transitions of care and reduce readmissions. You will document accurately and promptly in the electronic health record, follow UCHealth policies and clinical protocols, and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and care efficiency. UCHealth’s culture emphasizes innovation, diversity, and inclusion, and encourages nurses to engage in shared governance, professional development, and continuous learning. As part of this fellowship, you will participate in classroom learning, simulation, and hands-on clinical experience under the guidance of experienced preceptors and clinical educators. You will be expected to uphold UCHealth’s standards of patient-centered care, excellent communication, and teamwork, and to contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative unit environment. This full-time position offers competitive compensation, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits, as well as tuition assistance and opportunities for advancement. Candidates should be committed to working in a fast-paced, acute care setting with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support patient care 24/7. Successful candidates will demonstrate adaptability, resilience, strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering excellent care to medically complex patients in a progressive care setting at UCHealth in {JOB-CITY}, {JOB-STATE}.
