Job Description
Marshfield Clinic – Marshfield Children’s is seeking a compassionate RN, Infusion to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our pediatric department. In this role, you will provide specialized infusion therapy to infants, children, and adolescents in an integrated, child‑focused environment. You will be responsible for assessing pediatric patients, initiating and managing IV access, administering a wide range of IV medications, blood products, biologics, and other infusion therapies, and closely monitoring patients for therapeutic response and adverse reactions. Using evidence-based nursing practice, you will develop, implement, and regularly update individualized care plans in collaboration with pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, pharmacists, advanced practice providers, and other members of a multidisciplinary team. You will educate patients and families on infusion procedures, medications, potential side effects, and home care instructions, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and empowered. Documentation of assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient outcomes will be completed accurately and timely in the electronic health record. You will follow all infection prevention, safety, and quality standards, including central line care, medication reconciliation, and double-check processes for high‑risk drugs. This position thrives in Marshfield Clinic Health System’s collaborative, patient‑first culture, where compassion, integrity, and continuous improvement guide daily work. You will participate in team huddles, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives focused on optimizing pediatric infusion outcomes and enhancing the patient and family experience. The role offers opportunities for ongoing education, certification support, skills development, and participation in pediatric research or innovation projects as appropriate. Our integrated health system environment allows you to work closely with colleagues across inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services, helping coordinate seamless care for children and families across central and northern Wisconsin. The ideal candidate is a pediatric‑oriented registered nurse with strong IV therapy skills, excellent communication, and the ability to support children and families during complex or anxiety‑provoking treatments. You should be comfortable in a fast‑paced clinical setting, adept at prioritizing care, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. In return, you will join a supportive organization that emphasizes teamwork, wellness, and work‑life balance, while providing meaningful opportunities to grow your career in pediatric infusion nursing.
