Del Sol Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse Surgery to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in El Paso, TX. As a key member of our surgical nursing staff, you will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive preoperative assessments, verifying patient histories, allergies, medications, and informed consents, and ensuring proper preparation for surgery. During intraoperative care, you will function as a circulating nurse and, as needed, scrub nurse, maintaining a sterile field, managing instruments and supplies, performing accurate counts, and advocating for patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure. Postoperatively, you will monitor patient recovery, assess pain and vital signs, administer medications and treatments as ordered, and provide education to patients and families regarding recovery, discharge instructions, and follow-up care. You will utilize critical thinking and strong clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient condition, respond to emergencies, and escalate concerns promptly. Documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record must be thorough, timely, and consistent with hospital and regulatory standards. You will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols, and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient surgical environment.
