Job Description
Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate pediatric nursing care in a regional medical center serving the Midwest. As a Registered Nurse specializing in pediatrics, you will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise and adhering to professional nursing ethics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a safe care environment. Maintain and care for central lines and prevent surgical site infections following policy guidelines. Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families to support positive health outcomes. Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and communicate findings to the healthcare team. Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data to support clinical decisions and compliance. Effectively communicate patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide health education. Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Experience At least one year of nursing experience is preferred. Certification and Licensure Current RN license in the state or compact licensure is required. Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
