Job Description
Mercy is seeking a dedicated RN Specialty Clinic nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient specialty setting. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will support patients across a variety of complex conditions, coordinating care in collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinical professionals. In this role, you will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and deliver clinical interventions such as medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and pre- and post-procedure support. You will manage both in-person and telephone triage, using established clinical protocols to prioritize patient needs, provide evidence-based education, and ensure timely follow-up on diagnostic tests, referrals, and treatment plans. Working within Mercy’s culture of compassion, diversity, and respect, you will serve as a patient advocate, helping patients and families understand diagnoses, procedures, medications, and self-care strategies to enhance outcomes and quality of life. You will document all care accurately in the electronic health record, maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives that advance clinical outcomes and patient experience. The RN Specialty Clinic will collaborate closely with physicians and clinic leadership to streamline workflows, support clinic efficiency, and contribute ideas that foster innovation in outpatient specialty care. This position offers the opportunity to grow professionally through exposure to advanced treatments and specialty procedures while participating in continuous learning and skills development supported by Mercy. You will engage in interdisciplinary case discussions, attend relevant in-services and educational programs, and may precept or mentor newer nurses as your experience grows. Mercy’s comprehensive benefits and supportive environment enable you to build a meaningful, long-term career while making a direct impact on community health. Successful candidates will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to empathy and respect in every patient interaction. The RN Specialty Clinic role is ideal for nurses who enjoy building ongoing relationships with patients in an outpatient setting, working regular clinic hours with occasional flexibility for specialty procedures or extended clinic times. At Mercy, you will work alongside dynamic teams, contribute to lifesaving healthcare innovations, and play a vital role in delivering personalized, coordinated specialty care to patients throughout the Midwest.
