What will I do as a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager? Identifies Resident Care Requirements by: Establishing personal rapport with potential and actual residents and other persons in a position to understand care requirements. Uses the nursing process as a framework to deliver care by establishing or contributing to a plan of care with the resident including a teaching plan; establishing or contributing to prioritization of goals appropriate to the resident's age and ability to learn; medical diagnoses; discharge plan; identifying nursing diagnoses, writing nursing interventions and identifying teaching objectives appropriate to care standards; by reassessing and documenting the effectiveness of nursing actions and the residents progress toward goals as the resident's condition changes; by communicating the plan and resident progress to the interdisciplinary team; delegating the plan of care to other licensed and unlicensed associates within their scope of practice. Infection Prevention: Will adhere to infection control policies and procedures and will understand basic infection control programs in the facility.
