Rock N Water Cook Position Overview The cook's role is to oversee the kitchen, prepare meals, supervise staff and ensure guests have an excellent experience during their scheduled shift. Essential Functions Food preparation, making meals (including special dietary needs), and cleaning up in a timely manner per camp schedules Supervising other food staff and volunteers Follow all applicable safety rules set by the camp, County Health Dept, and any other appropriate agencies while making sure all staff/volunteers do the same Keep kitchen in clean condition to at least meet or exceed all regulatory standards Additional Functions: Keep Kitchen Manager informed of supply and equipment needs, potential guest issues, and any changes needing to be made Model and maintain a Christ-like, servant attitude toward guests and staff Other duties as assigned by supervisor Major Competency Areas: Excellent time management, ability to work under pressure, and flexibility Ability to accept guidance and supervision Being a positive team member Ability to teach and supervise Qualifications: Godly, Christian character, integrity, and adaptability Pleasant personality even in stressful situations with guests and staff Availability early June to early August Minimum age of 16 Valid CA driver license Completion of appropriate online food safety course Physical Demands: Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs Ability to stand on feet for 8 hours Founded in 1989, Rock-N-Water is a group of Christians who are passionate about safely leading people into the wonder of God's creation.
