This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to develop and grow an evolving model acute care surgical services in a busy community teaching hospital setting. MMC is currently building a robust program in Emergency General Surgery (EGS) and Trauma care Surgical Critical Care (SCC). The Director will have 80% clinical and 20% administrative responsibilities, with on-call coverage required. The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $600,000 to $830,000 per year. Position Overview: Provide strategic and clinical leadership to establish a comprehensive Acute Care Surgery program Oversee the development and implementation of Emergency General Surgery and Emergency Trauma Response systems Deliver direct patient care in trauma, surgical, critical care, and emergency general surgery Lead and mentor residents and medical students in collaboration with Rutgers University School of Medicine Support ongoing research efforts in trauma and surgical critical care Collaborate with hospital and system leadership to advance programmatic goals Candidate Requirements: Board-certified/eligible by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care Fellowship trained in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care At least 7 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and scholarly activity Prior experience in program development preferred Academic rank with Rutgers University commensurate with experience About Monmouth Medical Center Monmouth Medical Center (MMC), located in Long Branch, New Jersey, is an RWJBarnabas Health facility and includes The Unterberg Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center.
