Safety Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Engineer to champion safety initiatives across construction projects and operational sites. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Duties Develop, review, and enforce safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and industry best practices. Conduct thorough risk management assessments to identify potential hazards on construction sites and operational areas. Lead safety training sessions for staff, contractors, and visitors to ensure awareness of safety protocols and compliance management. Monitor construction site activities using construction management software to track safety performance metrics and incident reports. Perform regular site inspections, audits, and surveillance to verify adherence to safety regulations such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA requirements. Investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses promptly; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with construction management teams to integrate EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) considerations into project planning and execution phases. Qualifications Proven experience in construction management or construction site experience with a strong understanding of construction processes. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, NEC standards, workers' compensation procedures, and compliance management practices. Demonstrated expertise in risk management techniques related to occupational health and safety. Familiarity with construction management software tools used for safety tracking and reporting. Excellent communication skills for conducting training sessions, safety meetings, and reporting incidents clearly. Ability to assess hazards accurately and implement effective mitigation strategies in fast-paced environments. Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour or 40-Hour Training are highly desirable.
