Toppers and Trailers Plus is seeking an energetic and detail oriented salesperson with some sales experience or the willingness to learn. Our sales people sell truck toppers and a wide variety of trailers, so a good working knowledge of these areas would be very helpful. We have been in business since 1986 and currently have 2 locations. This position would be primarily at our Mankato location but would have the occasion of working at our other store and/or at offsite events. Training will be conducted at our Le Sueur store. This is a full-time position, 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday during the summer and rotating Saturdays 9am – 3pm during the fall/winter. Job Description Prepare sales orders for customers Develop relationships with our existing customers and vendors Maintain existing customers and solicit new customer accounts Learn product features and keep up with new products Prepare and present quotes to customers Maintain website with new units and ensure accuracy on our website Conduct periodic inventory counts on toppers and trailers Register units for warranty with manufactures Deliver and pick up trailers when needed Qualifications Prefer 2+ years of sales experience, ideally in a retail setting Ability to get along with others Must possess skills of persuasion, negotiation, and motivation Ability to interpret and work from oral and written instructions Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively and courteously with vendors, co-workers and customers Must be willing to travel for training and pickup/delivery of trailers (preferred) Valid Driver’s License, Evidence of Insurability, and/or the ability to travel to required destinations Ability to perform basic math calculations Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity Sufficient computer skills, particularly proficiency with email, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Skilled in oral and written communications Willingness to work extra hours during the peak season from November – April Ability to hook up, back up and pull trailers Ability to collaborate as a team Anticipated hours per week: 35-45 hours Compensation: This position is hourly plus commission with the possibility of overtime and spiffs. Expect $50,000 – $75,000+ per year depending on experience, sales and number of hours worked. Manufacture spiffs are separate and in addition.
