Job Description
As I Am is looking for a Sales Intern who is curious, organized, and ready to learn how a fast-growing textured haircare brand shows up across retail, beauty supply, ecommerce, and professional channels. This is a great role for someone who wants real exposure to sales, retail strategy, beauty, and brand growth — not just busywork. You’ll get to see how products move from shelf to cart, how buyers think, how sales data tells a story, and how brands build relationships with retailers and distributors. What you’ll do You’ll support the sales team with projects like: Helping track retailer and distributor sales performance Researching beauty trends, competitors, pricing, and shelf sets Supporting sales presentations, recaps, and buyer meeting prep Organizing product information, sell sheets, and retailer assets Helping identify new retail, salon, beauty supply, and partnership opportunities Assisting with follow-ups after meetings, trade shows, and sales calls Spotting what’s working, what’s not, and where As I Am can grow next Basically: you’ll help us turn “this could be a vibe” into actual sales opportunities. Who you are You don’t need to know everything already. We’re looking for someone who is: Curious about beauty, haircare, retail, or consumer brands Comfortable with spreadsheets, research, and organizing information A strong communicator who can write clearly and professionally Detail-oriented enough to catch the little things Comfortable asking questions and learning fast Interested in how brands grow at places like Walmart, Target, Sally Beauty, Amazon, beauty supply stores, salons, and beyond A self-starter who can take a project and actually run with it Bonus points if you’re the friend who notices packaging, prices, endcaps, TikTok trends, and what products people are actually using. What you’ll learn This internship is built to give you hands-on experience in: Retail sales strategy Beauty industry trends Buyer presentations Sales analytics Distributor and account management Competitive research Trade marketing How a real consumer brand grows across multiple channels No corporate NPC energy. You’ll be close to the action and get a real look at how sales decisions are made. Requirements Current college student or recent graduate preferred Interest in beauty, consumer products, retail, sales, marketing, or business development Basic Excel/Google Sheets skills Strong writing and communication skills Organized, reliable, and willing to learn Available part-time during the internship period About As I Am As I Am creates high-performance haircare for textured hair, with products made for coils, curls, waves, protective styles, scalp care, and healthy hair routines.
