Job Description
We work with schools, parks and churches, etc.. In order to sell playgrounds, you have to know playgrounds. What better way to learn than to be involved in every aspect of the commercial playground business—from start to finish. From sales, to construction, to playground inspections—guidance and training will be given every step of the way. Although, there are two (2) aspects to the job, the main thrust is sales and connecting with the decision maker(s). It is our job to make sure everything runs smoothly. In order to provide excellence to the customer, a hands-on approach is our general rule. Part of your income is in selling the playground equipment. We start with the following: Marketing / Sales Letters/Mailings Calls/Texts Quotes Invoices In person visits Research Construction / Installation Once a playground equipment sale is completed, the installation process begins. You will be on the job, making sure everything is correct. Most jobs are close to home, but sometimes they are far away. In such cases, overnight stays will be necessary. In either case, you will be involved with the following: Coordination with each supplier. Helping to unload the trucks. Layout according to the sale. Construction of the playground. When the installation is finished, the job will be walked with the customer and punch list(s) completed. On top of the safety aspect, doing playground safety inspections can be a benefit to you. It makes you more credible, and it gets you in front of more people. (Getting your inspection certificate involves a fee and some schooling. This will not happen until after you have some experience under your belt.) Hours Hours vary, but typically M-F and weekends as needed. We are not tied to an hourly schedule. You should be flexible and work an average of 40+ hours a week. Sundays and holidays are minimal—typically only upon emergencies, which are very rare. Time off is to be scheduled with the company. This is a commission position. A rate of 25% is paid on all profits. As a subcontractor (1099), all expenses and fees are able to be deducted from your income, for tax purposes.
