Job Description: As a Sales & Use Tax Manager, you will play a key role within our State and Local Tax (SALT) Consulting practice, working directly with clients to address complex sales and use tax matters while supporting engagement delivery and contributing to practice growth. This role is highly client-facing and consultative, with a focus on delivering quality work, managing engagements, and building strong client relationships. You will work closely with Senior Managers and Partners on planning opportunities, compliance, audits, and controversy matters, while also mentoring and developing team members. Responsibilities: Manage Sales & Use Tax consulting engagements, including planning, implementation, audit support, voluntary disclosures, and controversy matters across multiple jurisdictions Serve as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring high-quality service delivery Support identification of new opportunities within existing client relationships and contribute to business development efforts Provide guidance on Sales & Use Tax risk, exposure, and process improvements, delivering practical and actionable solutions Manage engagement timelines, scope, and deliverables to meet client expectations Review workpapers, research, and client deliverables for accuracy and completeness Mentor and develop seniors and staff, providing ongoing coaching and feedback Collaborate with other SALT and firm service lines to support integrated client solutions Stay current on Sales & Use Tax developments and assist in communicating impacts to clients and internal teams Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred CPA, CMI, JD, or LLM required 5 years of public accounting experience, with a strong focus on Sales & Use Tax consulting Demonstrated experience leading Sales & Use Tax engagements and interacting directly with clients Strong technical research and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex tax issues into actionable client advice Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to practice growth and business development Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy consulting environment Willingness to work additional hours during peak periods as needed We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
