Job Description
Overview The sandwich maker is an essential role in our deli operation that is responsible for assembling high-quality sandwiches, assisting with food prep, warming menu items, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in consistency, speed and food quality. Sandwich Production Execute sandwich builds to specs (bread, spread, protein, toppings and finishes). Follow standard build order and protein control to ensure consistency and food cost control. Verify all components match ticket details (modifications, add-ons, allergies). Maintain clean, stocked, and organized sandwich station at all times. Work within defined ticket time goals. (ex: 3-6 minutes per ticket) Hotline / Food Warming: Heat proteins, breads, and sides using approved equipment. Follow exact heating times and temperature standards. Coordinate timing with sandwich line to ensure full order readiness at the same time. Food Prep & Production: Complete daily prep lists accurately and on time. Prepare ingredients (sliced meats, wash/cut/portion produce, mix sauces, etc.) Label, date, and rotate all products using FIFO (First In First Out) Monitor PAR levels and communicate low inventory before it impacts service. Order Accuracy & Packaging Read and execute digital tickets from delivery platforms. Double-check order accuracy before handoff. Package food properly to maintain temperature, structure and presentation during delivery. Ensure all modifiers, sides, and add-ons are included. Cleanliness, Sanitation & Food Safety Maintain a clean-as-you-go workstation throughout the shift. Follow all sanitation procedures (surface cleaning, glove changing handwashing). Properly store food at safe temperature (cold holding/hot holding) Follow all local health department and food safety guidelines. Teamwork & Communication Communicate clearly with team Support other stations when needed to maintain flow. Respond quickly to direction from shift manager or management team. Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Qualification/Skills/Education 1+ year food service or kitchen experience preferred. Experience in sandwich/deli, Quick Service Restaurant, or fast casual environments a plus. Team-Oriented: Works well in fast-paced environment and collaborates effectively with colleagues. Professionalism: Punctual, liable, and able to maintain composure under pressure. Food Handler Certification (required within 30 days if not already obtained) Availability: Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Work Environment /Physical Requirement Ability to stand for extended period (6+ hours). Must be able to lift to 20 lbs., such as moving menus, chairs, and minor set up tasks. Comfortable working in a high-energy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
