Job Description
The Sanitation Lead is a key hands-on role responsible for performing and guiding daily sanitation activities to ensure food safety, cleanliness, and compliance within the facility.This position is not supervisory but plays a critical role in supporting the Sanitation Supervisor by helping coordinate tasks, reinforcing standards, and ensuring assigned duties are completed effectively.The ideal candidate will have strong industrial, food sanitation experience, be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of following and relaying directions clearly in both English and Spanish.Key Responsibilities:Sanitation Execution & Support Perform cleaning and sanitation of equipment, floors, walls, and production lines following proper procedures and safety protocols.Ensure correct use of chemicals and cleaning tools to eliminate contaminants and allergens.Dismantle, clean, and reassemble production equipment as needed.Team Assistance & Direction Support sanitation team members by offering hands-on help and clear direction on tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Model proper cleaning practices and safe chemical handling.Check task completion and help ensure daily cleaning schedules are followed.Food Safety & Compliance Follow all company food safety guidelines including HACCP, GMP, USDA, FDA, and SQF standards.Report potential sanitation or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.Maintain personal hygiene and follow all PPE and safety protocols.Equipment & Supply Management Assist in monitoring and maintaining sanitation equipment and supply inventory.Ensure tools are used safely and stored properly after use.Communication & Reporting Communicate effectively with team members and supervisor about task progress or concerns.Accurately complete required logs and documentation related to sanitation activities.Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Qualifications & Skills:2years of sanitation experience in a food production or warehouse setting required.Must be 18 years or older.Ability to speak and understand English (Spanish bilingual preferred).Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.Must be dependable and able to work in a team-oriented environment.Physical Demands:Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 90 lbs with assistance.Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, reach, climb, twist, and grip for extended periods.Work in varying environments including cold, hot, wet, humid, and loud conditions.Safely operate sanitation equipment and use chemical cleaning agents..
