SunFoods,LLC a leading distributor of rice in the US and abroad, is currently hiring for a Sanitation Hand at our Mill located in Woodland, CA Our Sanitation Hands maintain the cleanliness of the facility; spray pesticides and herbicides and perform fumigation in and around our mill.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:include the following.Other duties may be assigned.Sweep and generally clean all areas of the plant including rooftops and silo hoppers.Apply various pesticides and herbicides with several different types of sprayers.Perform various types of fumigations.Perform Pest control and eradication using approved methods, equipment and procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills:Ability to read and understand documents in English language such as safety rules, labels, MSDS, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Ability to pass QAC.Must have or have the ability to obtain a forklift operators license.Other Qualifications:Must be able to work rotating shifts.Must be able to identify different types of rice; identify damage to rice, identify chemicals from a safe distance; shovel large quantities of rice and push heavy loads of rice.Ability to wear a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus that includes a backpack tank and face mask.No facial hair other than a trimmed moustache is permitted Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.The employee is frequently required to stand; climb or balance; talk or hear and taste or smell.The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration.The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and explosives.The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.Work is performed in a high dust environment; work with solvents, cleaning agents and fumigant is required.Workers must often work in tight, confined claustrophobic spaces.Job Type:Full-time Pay:From $17.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
